On October 6 at 3:00 p.m., a webinar supported by the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP) will take place: “Compensation for War-Related Damages: What Should Businesses Know?” The webinar will feature Artem Ripenko, partner at «DE-JURE», attorney, and Doctor of Law.

We will discuss the practical steps businesses should take after property damage:

  • how to properly document the fact of a strike and collect evidence;
  • which documents need to be prepared, who is responsible for them, and where they should be submitted;
  • when an expert assessment or court-ordered examination is required to determine the amount of damage;
  • whether it makes sense to file a claim with a Ukrainian court and what opportunities this may provide;
  • the difference between the Register of Damaged and Destroyed Property and the Register of Damage for Ukraine;
  • what businesses should check before a possible attack and what options are available for war-risk insurance.

We will also discuss how proper documentation of damages can assist businesses in dealing with insurance companies, tax authorities, counterparties, government and donor programs, as well as in subsequent compensation procedures.

The webinar will be useful for entrepreneurs (individual entrepreneurs and legal entities), regardless of their size, turnover, or business activity, who have suffered losses as a result of russia’s aggression (including strikes and property located in occupied territories), as well as businesses anticipating future war-related risks and seeking to minimize their consequences.
