Property Rights to Real Estate in Wartime: Judicial Practice, Compensation and Housing Solutions

We invite you to an important event!

On August 6, a professional event titled “Property Rights to Real Estate in Wartime: Judicial Practice, Compensation and Housing Solutions” will take place in Kyiv and online.

The event is organized by the Human Rights Institute of the Ukrainian Bar Association together with the Housing Institute as part of the project “Provision of Urgent Legal Aid to Vulnerable Groups Affected by the War in Ukraine,” implemented with the support of the International Rescue Committee.

During the event, judges, attorneys, notaries, state registrars, government representatives and experts will discuss:

▪️ current judicial practice concerning the protection of property rights;
▪️ compensation for property destroyed or damaged as a result of the war;
▪️ practical implementation of the “єВідновлення” compensation programme;
▪️ challenges related to proving property ownership and accessing compensation;
▪️ alternative housing solutions for people who cannot benefit from existing compensation mechanisms.

“DE-JURE” will also be part of this professional discussion. Artem Ripenko, a partner at the law firm and a project expert, will speak on the panel “Compensation and ‘єВідновлення’: Who Is Left Outside the Procedure by Judicial and Administrative Practice”.
