Housing and utility services will not charge fees for destroyed and damaged properties: legal digest.

At the end of the month, the DE-JURE team traditionally gathered to discuss the latest updates in Ukrainian legislation that will soon impact our lives and work.

The legal digest was prepared by Artem Ripenko, partner at the DE-JURE company, head of the forensic and land law practice, attorney, and Doctor of Law. Here is what was discussed:

  • The President signed a law introducing amendments to the Criminal Code. In particular, antisemitism has now been separated from xenophobia and insults to honor and dignity as a distinct criminal offense.
  • If, based on inspection results, real estate is recognized as destroyed or damaged, the accrual of payments for housing and коммунal services, as well as other charges предусмотрені by the service agreement, is terminated.
  • Basic military training for students has been replaced with training of learners for national resistance (regardless of gender). It will cover all levels of education — from secondary to higher education. In particular, it предусматриває the introduction of a new academic discipline, “Fundamentals of National Resistance.”
  • The Verkhovna Rada adopted a European integration law that digitalizes enforcement proceedings systems and introduces interaction between the Unified Register of Debtors and other registers.
  • The Cabinet of Ministers approved the National Program for adapting legislation to EU law (1081 pages).
  • As of April 1, it is no longer necessary to prepare certificates of completed works — and this is not an April Fools’ joke.

Attention was also paid to high-profile court decisions, future challenges, and international news.

To be continued!
