Where to invest money in Ukraine during and after the war

Investing is investing money in a business, real estate or other assets with the aim of making a profit. In Ukraine, investments are regulated by legislation that protects the rights of the investor.

Managing Partner of “DE-JURE”, Candidate of Law Gryhorii Tripulskyi spoke for the novyny.live publishing house about investment opportunities in Ukraine during and after the war.

Despite the full-scale war, there are still people in Ukraine who have surplus funds and are looking for ways to invest them effectively. The investment market has undergone significant changes due to martial law, but continues to function, offering both traditional and new opportunities. To analyze investment prospects, it is advisable to consider two areas: domestic investments in Ukraine and external ones – on international markets.

Where can you invest in Ukraine during the war?

  • Domestic real estate market: although the primary market is stagnant, the market of commercial and secondary residential real estate demonstrates the potential for profitable acquisitions.
  • Cryptocurrencies: despite the risks and insufficient regulation, this segment remains attractive, especially after the rapid growth of exchange rates in 2024.
  • Stock market: still limited for private investors, but the domestic market for mutual funds is developing.

Foreign investment is mostly limited due to the war, but after its end, a significant inflow of capital is expected, especially in agriculture and energy.

The market prospects depend on the end of the war. The investor’s task is to weigh the risks and diversify the portfolio.
