Case: Battle for Paternity Recognition
Establishing paternity is the legal process of recognizing a man as the father of a child. It can occur voluntarily or through a court, and affects inheritance, alimony, and other rights.
Today we share another unusual case from practice. Our client turned to the law firm “DE-JURE” to protect his right to paternity. He made demands to the defendant that he was the father of her newborn child, and wanted his name to be included in the baby’s documents. Interestingly, the client and the defendant lived in different cities, and the woman even denied the fact of their acquaintance.
The man’s interests in court were represented by the head of the litigation practice, attorney Yuriy Kostinyuk. According to the results of the hearing, it was proven that the parties did have several dates, and the client provided relevant photo evidence. The woman refused to undergo an examination, but the information provided was enough to make a decision in favor of our client.
