Can a driver’s license be revoked for ignoring the territorial assembly center?
Deprivation of driving privileges is a punishment for a serious offense (traffic rules, ignoring a summons), which can be imposed by a Ukrainian court.
The new law on mobilization provides for the deprivation of a driver’s license as a punishment for failure to appear at the territorial assembly center, but were there such cases in 2024? The law firm “DE-JURE” answered this question to The Page.
— Deprivation of a driver’s license is the next sanction after imposing a fine for ignoring the territorial assembly center, — notes the head of litigation practice, lawyer of the law firm “DE-JURE” Yuriy Kostinyuk. — If after that a person does not come, he is declared wanted. When the police receive a message that a person cannot be found, the territorial assembly center files a lawsuit with the court to deprive this person of the right to drive vehicles. They cannot currently take away the right from the violator on their own.
Similar cases in practice in 2024 were almost non-existent. Moreover, even the imposition of fines is not yet widespread. Not long ago, the company “DE-JURE” proved the illegality of fining a client in court. Let’s see what the next year brings.
